This new business unit for Cigars International features a curated, boutique collection of cigars aimed towards the next generation of cigar smokers. Cigora required new product and lifestyle photography direction for their entire catalog as well as motion graphics for video.

This project also required a massive UI/UX design collaboration. A Seattle-based design firm and several third-party developers have all been a part of its continuing growth.

Product Photography

I realized early on that it’s not just about smoking cigars, it’s everything: getting a box, opening the packaging, smelling the leaves, reading the history, seeing all the details. With every cigar, you not only see, but can also smell and taste all the time put into creating an experience specific to a brand or blend. I did my best to convey that when taking photos.

Lifestyle Photography

Smoking cigars is an experience. It can be with a group of friends or a solo break to enjoy a moment to yourself. My approach to developing lifestyle photography for the brand included that exploration. It’s the details that matter.

Videos for Social Media

This is a staff review by a member of the Cigora team. I directed and edited the video as well as developed all in-video graphics.

UI Design

The interface was designed to reflect the unit’s new and refreshing approach to selling cigars. They aren’t targeting the older technophobic demographic, they are appealing to the younger, mostly untapped audience (25-35) that craves clean design, immersive experiences, and the boutique collection of cigars offered.
